FAQs
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance at this time. I understand that not accepting insurance may present a barrier to accessing mental health services and would be happy to discuss my reasonings for not accepting insurance further with potential clients.
Can we meet for sessions in-person?
At this time, I am solely providing services via telehealth. I connect with all clients remotely from a HIPAA compliant video system.
What will our first session look like?
During your first appointment we will review paperwork and gather background information to find out what your main concerns and goals are for therapy. (*For teens, the initial session will be divided so that I can meet with caregiver and teen together, as well as separately.) This process gives us the opportunity to get to know one another a little better, and will help us determine whether I have the skills to help meet your unique treatment needs and goals. This will in turn help us decide whether we will be a good fit for one another. If we are not a good fit, I am happy to provide you with referrals for other providers that may better suit your needs.
Is there a cancellation policy?
There is! I require a 24-hour notice in advance of a scheduled session if you need to miss session for any reason.
Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including therapy and other mental health services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes therapy and other mental health services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.
If you receive a bill that is more than $400 greater than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate
If you have questions or would like more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or would like to know how to dispute a bill you can visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
